     King Abdullah II of Jordan was contacted by phone by
     T. Meloni – What they said about the Middle East
     "He reiterated Italy's commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the residents
     of the Gaza Strip"
     
       Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni held a telephone
       conversation with King Abdullah II of Jordan earlier today, Monday
       (15/4), about the situation in the Middle East after Iran's attack on
       Israel.
       In a statement by the Italian government, it is underlined that "the
       Italian Prime Minister recalled the conclusions of the video conference
       of the leaders of the G7 group held yesterday" and that "the discussion
       between the two leaders focused on the need to avoid further
       escalation of tension in the region".
       At the same time, the announcement states that the Italian Prime
       Minister recalled the importance of ending the humanitarian crisis in
       Gaza and continuing efforts aimed at an immediate and sustainable
       ceasefire and the release of the hostages from Hamas.
       "The two leaders also discussed addressing the humanitarian crisis in
       Gaza, an effort in which Jordan plays a key role. Giorgia Meloni
       reiterated Italy's commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the
       residents of the Gaza Strip," the Italian government's announcement
       concludes.
