Putin: "We are killing a large number of British and French in Ukraine" "I
would prefer France to take more constructive initiatives"

The presence of foreign British and French soldiers in Ukraine was confirmed by
Russian President Vladimir Putin himself during his answer to journalists'
questions. Putin said that a large number of British and French soldiers are
fighting in Ukraine, but as he clarified, this is a bloody affair for them, as
the Russian forces are "killing many of them". At the same time, the Russian
president specifically called on Paris not to get involved in such cases, but
rather to promote peace initiatives.

Putin said more specifically: "NATO soldiers are in Ukraine. We know that. They
speak French and English, we know that too.

There is nothing good about that. First of all for themselves because they are
killed in large numbers.  And if someone wants to cover up their country's
internal problems with aggressive rhetoric, it is a well-known and widely used
practice.

However, I would prefer France not to play this role which only exacerbates the
conflict, but instead to take actions for peaceful solutions. France could play
that role and nothing is lost for now."
