     UAE - Saudi Arabia: Quiet cooperation with Israel to
     stop Iran's attack

      As hundreds of Iranian drones and missiles crossed the Middle
      East on Saturday night, a defensive line of radars, fighter jets,
      warships and air defense batteries from Israel, the United States
      and other countries had already been activated to counter the
      attack. from Iran.
      This impressive display of collective defense was the culmination of a
      decade-long US effort to strengthen military ties between Israel and its
      Arab rivals in the face of a shared growing threat from Iran.
      However, the US-led effort to protect Israel from an Iranian attack has
      faced several obstacles, including fears by Gulf countries of appearing
      allied with Israel at a time of strained relations over the Gaza war.
      Saturday night's cooperation that led to the downing of Iranian targets
      was developed on the fly, with many details about the role of Saudi
      Arabia and other key Arab governments remaining confidential.
      Israeli and US forces have intercepted most of Iran's drones and
      missiles, thanks in part to Arab countries quietly spreading
      intelligence about Tehran's plans , giving warplanes access to their
      airspace, sharing information radar and, in some cases, providing their
      own forces to assist, according to officials.
      The operation was the culmination of a years-long U.S. effort to
      overcome political and technical obstacles preventing military
      cooperation between Israel and Sunni Arab governments , officials
      said.
      Rather than a Middle East version of the NATO alliance, the US has
      focused on less formal air defense partnerships in the region to counter
      Tehran's growing arsenal of drones and missiles – the same weapons
