EU cuts free speech outlets because they do not control it 
Von der Leyen: A ban on TikTok is not out of the question 'The Commission' was 
the first to ban TikTok on company phones
	    
EU Commission was the first in the world to ban TikTok on company phones.    In
her statements made during a tele-conference in Maastricht of the main
candidates of the European parties for the European elections. It was recalled
that last week TikTok decided to suspend a function that rewards users for
interacting with the TikTok-Lite application as the Commission announced that
it had launched an investigation against it regarding the possibility of
violating content control rules in the European bloc such as those defined by
the Digital Services Act DSA.
	    
TikTok is also at the centre of a separate investigation - again under the DSA
into inadequate measures to protect minors - Under the regulations the
Commission can order the temporary suspension of a service as a last resort in
any case of violation of the regulations.
